Contact Lens Fittings & Exams in Old Bridge, NJ

A contact lens prescription is not the same as a glasses prescription. Contacts sit directly on the eye, so they need extra measurements and a check of how the lens fits and feels. That’s what a contact lens exam and fitting covers.

Types we can discuss (from our current service list)

  • Daily disposable lenses
  • Extended-wear lenses
  • Toric lenses for astigmatism

Not every type suits every eye. Your doctor will recommend based on your prescription, eye health and lifestyle.

What to expect

  1. An eye exam, or a review of a recent one.
  2. Measurements of your eyes for lens size and shape.
  3. A trial pair and instructions for inserting, removing and caring for lenses.
  4. A follow-up visit if your doctor recommends one.

Bring: your current contacts or box, glasses, and insurance information.

If you already wear contacts: you can ask us about a renewal exam. Contact lens prescriptions expire, and we can’t give a prescription without an exam.

If you’re only sometimes uncomfortable in contacts, or your eyes are red, painful or irritated, stop wearing them and contact your eye doctor.

Back up your contacts with a pair of eyeglasses. Start with an eye exam, or check vision insurance for contact lens benefits.
